Natural Hair Black Friday Wish List #2 (Liter Sizes)

Now that I have my healthy hair regimen down to a science and I know what my hair likes, the do's and don'ts and when to use certain hair products I now prefer to buy in liter sizes. The best time of year for me to buy is either Black Friday or Easter for the best deals. Here are some of my Holy Grails that are in liter sizes

Oyin Handmade Honey Wash (Original Scent) $35
Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner $56

Oyin Handmade Honey Hemp $38
Curl Junkie Curl Rehab (Strawberry Scent) $68
Jessicurl Too Shea Conditioner $50

Other than liter sizes there are a few items in 16oz sizes that I like to stock up on during the sale times.

Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream $35

She Scent It Avocado Conditioner $15

Uncle Funky's Daughter (Original Formula) Curly Magic $25

Normarly companies like Curl Junkie, Oyin Handmade and SheScentIt will offer anywhere from 20-25% off. This year I have noticed a trend of 25% off at places like Oyin, CurlMart and Hattache. I'm hoping to catch these larger sizes at a good rate with free to cheap shipping. I live for these products and these deals. How about you?

Farmacy - New Day Gentle Exfoliating Grains

This stuff is incredible. The bottle is very sleek looking and comes very beautifully packaged. The contents are in powder form. When you use a little bit of water it suddenly hydrates and foams in your hand. It's not as messy as it sounds, and the grains aren't fine enough to blow all around everywhere .The larger granules/cranberry seeds are nice. I do like these cleansing grains.  The texture is initially very soft and rich and pleasurable to massage onto the skin.Normally larger granules can be a little harsh, but in this one they aren't. Once I spread this onto my face, it applied like a cream.

My face looked brighter and afterwards my skin feels SO soft. If you are acne prone, have way too visible pores, want smoother and softer skin then this is the product to try. My pores have drastically shrunk, my skin isn't oily, and I have no more dry patches.

About the Product
A potent, all-inclusive skin care treatment, the grains cleanse, exfoliate and clarify in one step for fresh, clear skin. The Innovative cleansing grains transform into a gentle, foaming exfoliating cream with the addition of water.

Black Friday Wishlist #1 (Hattache)

It's no secret that I love me a one stop shop. I love a place where I can get all of my natural haircare needs, has great customer service, and super fast shipping and I'm talking about Hattache. This store started in CA and has moved to the east coast but my love for this store has not left.

This Christmas I need to gift a few items to my mom, she needs cowashes and conditioners. I need conditioner and deep conditioners and maybe a leave in or two. My son needs body products that cater to sensative skin, so as you can see I can get everything I need for the household from one shop, Hattache.

They normally offer around 20% off but this year it will be 25% off with code BF015.

Here is my wishlist from Hattache:

Bobeam Condish (For entire family)
Obia Naturals (For me to try)
SheScentIt  (For entire Family)
Skinnamon (For entire Family and Sensative skin)
Tropical Isle Living (For my grow out challenge)

Lots of these brands are tried and true for me. Bobeam has the best poo bars in the game but I am in love with their Condish, I think I purchased 5 of them the last time Hattache had a sale.

I think that my mom's 3C hair will really like the Twisting Creams from Darcy's and their Conditioners. I think I will get her an oil too.

Jayden has really dry skin and I haven't made body butters for the home in a while so I need to get some for him quickly. I think he will like this brand,

Obia Naturals I have tried a twisting cream from them, thanks to CurlyGirlJess and AshkinCurls for sending me some on their last trip to the World Natural Hair Show in ATL. It was a great replacement for my holy grail Ohm Sweet Hair Pudding which is no longer made.

SDot Beauty I learned about from BlueOttLisa and I love their body butters but I have heard such wonderful things about their conditioners and leave ins that I just have to try it.

SheScentIt is a store that is packed with holy grails for me, including my favorite Avocado Conditioner. So I will be getting shampoos, cowashes, conditioners, and deep conditioners from SheScentIt for me, my mom and my son. My mom with her 3C hair, me with my 4A hair and my son with his 4B hair all can use the products from this line. Love them.

Skinnamon is a new favorite for me. I have tried their scrubs (on my face) and I'm in love. When I need something with some power and a little rough I turn to this brand. Jayden and I are going to be trying their body wash pretty soon, I have a bottle of Shea Moisture I need to finish and then its all SKINNAMON TIME lol.

Tropical Isle Living has had my heart for years and years. I swear by their JBCO. I have tried over brands and they actually give me sores on my scalp. This brand is perfect, no negative reactions and this year I have gotten so much growth by using a new form of the LOC method and their products. I will be doing a detailed video review on this new found method and how I got 2 inches of growth in a month. I was shocked.

OK I hope my Hattache wish list helps you out this holiday season. Stay tuned for Wishlist #2.

Review: FoodAHolic Potato 3D Sheet Mask

I purchased this mask from Beauty Net Korea.

(Ingredients: Glycerin, Alcohol, Butyene Glycol, Trehalose, Panthenol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Methyloaraben, Phenoryethanol, Potato Pulp Extract, Fig Fruit Extract, Corydalis Ochotensis Extract, ChenocodiumAlbum Flower Extract, Lactuca Indica Extract, Draba Nemorosa Extract, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA Fragrance.)

(Before Picture)

(After putting the mask on)

(This mask splits in the middle and is made to scoop under the chin, I have a double chin so it didn't fit well)

(The day after, no makeup on)

When using sheet masks there are steps to take.
1. Clean face with your soap, cleanser or scrub.
2. Use your toner / witch hazel after cleansing.
3. Apply sheet mask and wait 20-30 minutes.
4. Remove mask, apply/tap any left over essence to face and hands.
5. Done.

I followed the normal steps.

The claim for the Potato Sheet Maskpotato extract that moisturizes your skin through soothing your sun tanned skin and easing stress on the skin. Soothes, Moistures, Comforts Stressed Skin, Relaxes, Nutritional for the Skin, Softens. All Foodaholic Natural Essence Masks keeps the moist hydrationg sense based on silky touch and excellent contact of 3D shape natural pulp mask.

The verdit: I wasn't impressed with this sheet mask. It wasn't as moisturizing as the other masks I have tried. It's about 66 degrees outside which is a little cold for Los Angeles and my skin felt a little dry, if it was New York or other colder areas by skin would be extremly dry and thirsty. Since I have oily skin this would have been great for the summer time or to have the mask on the night before I was to wear makeup. For it to be moisturizing during the winter it missed the mark. I will have to try it again in the summer time to see if I like it then. I didn't see of feel any changes to the pimples on my chin.

Did my face fell nourishing? No
Did my skin feel soft? No
Did I have a youthful impression? No, I look very tired and dry.
Would you buy it again? No. Not in the winter, maybe I will try it again in the summer.

Review: Blueberry Sheet Mask from The Face Shop

I'm new to The Face Shop. I learned about them from my friend Shannon on Instagram (Tamingthebee). She loves all types of sheet masks so I figured I would give it a try.

The Face Shop brand is known for skin care and makeup. In stores the masks are about $2 each but online they were a little cheaper and had free shipping. So I ordered a variety pack on, it took a little over 3 weeks to get. The first 1 for me to try from The Face Shop is the Blueberry Mask (Real Nature Mask).

(Before picture)

(How the mask looks on)

(The ingredients: Water, glycerin, butylene glycol, blueberry fruit extract, alcohol denat, trehalose, sodium hyaluronatem xanthum gum, hydrogenated lecithin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, phaseolus, carbomer, peg-60 hydrogenated castor oil, triethanolamine, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, fragrance)

(The next day, early morning)

(After applying eyebrows, blush, and gloss, NO FOUNDATION or CONCEALER)

When using sheet masks there are steps to take.
1. Clean face with your soap, cleanser or scrub.
2. Use your toner / witch hazel after cleansing.
3. Apply sheet mask and wait 15-20 minutes.
4. Remove mask, apply/tap any left over essence to face and hands.
5. Done.

I followed the normal steps. I did have some redness on the tip of my nose that night. The coolness of the sheet mask and the ingredients helped to calm my pimple issue down.

The claim for the Blueberry Sheet Mask: A highly nourishing mask containing blueberry extract to help regain skin softness and youthful impression.

The verdit: Although this is not the 1st sheet mask I treid from The Face Shop one thing that I noticed is that the actual marketed ingredient (Blueberry) is high up on the ingredients list, 4th. Other companies have fillers, a lot of filler ingredients, and then have the key ingredients listed so far down on the list, this is not the case with The Face Shop products.

Did my face fell nourishing? Yes
Did my skin feel soft? Yes
Did I have a youthful impression? Well, you tell me, lol. I'm 36, do I look 36 years old???
Would you buy it again? Yes. Blueberry is in my top 5 that I have tried from The Face Shop, although Rice and others are ahead of it.

*Note. I will not purchase anything in store. I was treated rudly in the Gardena CA store by Jyi their cashier and rep that I will not go back. All orders will be online.
